It utilizes electrical parameters to force the stress at the fracture of the cable insulation shield to disperse into a more uniform distribution along the stress tube. This technology can only be used in cable accessories for voltages up to and including 35kV. At higher voltage levels, the stress tube will heat up and become inoperable.

The 10KV, 20KV, and 35KV heat-shrinkable power cable terminal and intermediate joint series products integrate waterproofing, stress control, and insulation. They exhibit excellent electrical and mechanical properties, allowing for long-term use under various harsh environmental conditions. Additionally, they are lightweight and easy to install. These products are widely used in the power, petrochemical, metallurgical, railway, port, and construction industries.
Heat shrinkable cable accessories, commonly known as heat shrinkable cable heads, are widely used for intermediate connections and terminations of cross-linked cables or oil-impregnated cables at voltage levels below 35KV. Compared to traditional cable accessories, they feature small size, light weight, safety and reliability, and convenient installation. The products comply with GB11033 standard, with a long-term use temperature range of -55℃ to 105℃, a radial shrinkage rate of ≥50%, a longitudinal shrinkage rate of <5%, and a shrinkage temperature of 110℃ to 140℃.
The materials used are generally composed of blends of various material components such as polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), and ethylene-propylene rubber.

The key technical issue in its use is to ensure that the electrical parameters of the stress tube must meet the specified values in the above standards to function properly. Additionally, it is important to fill the air gaps at the fracture of the cable insulation semiconducting layer with silicone grease to eliminate gas and achieve the purpose of reducing partial discharge. Cross-linked cables may undergo significant contraction during operation due to poor internal stress treatment. Therefore, when installing accessories, it is important to ensure that the overlap between the stress tube and the insulation shield is not less than 20mm to prevent the stress tube from detaching from the insulation shield during contraction.
Due to their low elasticity, thermal contraction accessories may generate air gaps at the interface during thermal expansion and contraction during operation. Therefore, sealing technology is crucial to prevent moisture infiltration.
