In the early morning of the 11th, with the successful power transmission of the newly expanded 1000 kV transformer, the first UHV substation in Shandong Province, the expansion project of the Quancheng 1000 kV substation, was successfully transmitted and operated.

It is reported that the Quancheng 1000 kV substation is the hub substation of the super power grid in our province and an important clean energy channel of the national air pollution prevention and control plan. As the receiving substation of the Ximeng-Shandong UHV AC project, the station has been in operation since 2016 to October 31, 2019, and has delivered a total of 38.76 billion kWh of clean energy to Shandong. During the peak period of electricity load in winter and summer, the clean energy from other provinces delivered by the station effectively made up for the electricity load gap in Shandong and greatly eased the power shortage situation.

This expansion project of Quancheng Station includes 2 sets of 1000kV transformers and 6 sets of 110kV capacitors. The rated capacity of a single transformer is 3 million kilowatts. One of the UHV substations with the largest substation capacity. As an important project to ensure the smooth power transmission and operation of this expansion project, the UHV substation system needs to go through 6 debugging tests including 1000 kV side switching and 500 kV side switching. The operation lasted for 5 days, and the accumulated lean operation exceeded 1000 times.

At the same time, this expansion project is also an important part of the Shandong-Hebei UHV AC ring network, which can comprehensively optimize the grid structure, greatly improve the ability of Shandong UHV power grid to cope with complex environments, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.
