Function of cable joint:

1. Cable connector is also called cable head. The joints at the two ends of the cable line are called terminal heads, the middle joint is called the middle joint, and the terminal head and the middle joint are collectively called the cable head. After the cable is laid, in order to make it a continuous line, the segments must be connected as a whole, and these connection points are called cable joints. The cable connector is used to lock and fix the incoming and outgoing wires, playing the role of waterproof, dustproof and shockproof.

2. The cable head is generally made on site after the cable is laid in place. Its main function is to make the circuit unblocked, keep the cable sealed, and ensure the insulation level at the cable joint to make it run safely and reliably. If the seal is not good, not only will the oil leak and cause the oil-impregnated paper to dry, but also moisture will invade the inside of the cable and reduce the paper insulation performance.

Faults easily caused by poor contact of cable connectors:

1. Insufficient handling of cable joints will lead to poor contact of the cable joints and cause accidents, especially the cable joints outdoors or in the field on rainy days. When electrical appliances are used, the electrical appliances will become unstable due to poor contact. Present a short circuit condition;

2. A cable connector with poor contact, if it rains outdoors, rainwater will penetrate into the cable connector and cause an electricity accident.

Today, I will tell you a formal method for safe and non-heating of cable joints: before crimping the connecting cord with the terminal sleeve, the tinning process is carried out.

The benefits of tinning cable joints are:

1. Ensure the reliable connection of the wire connector, avoid loosening and heating of the connector, and unimaginable circuit safety problems;

2. After the wire connector is tinned, the resistance of the wire will decrease. If there is no tinning treatment, the wire joints are prone to oxidation and virtual connection, or even sparking and fire.

Although it is not mandatory to handle the wire joints with tinning, it is best to carry out the tinning treatment at the wire joints! And in the following cases, it is necessary to carry out tinning treatment:

(1) If the line needs to be connected in the middle of the line, and the junction box cannot be left at this time, in this case, it must be tinned, and the heat-shrinkable sleeve can be used for sealing, which can prevent the oxidation of the junction strip;

(2) In the heavy current construction specification, the soft copper cable joints larger than 2.5 mm require tinning treatment, which can prevent heat caused by poor contact;

(3) If the lamps and lanterns in the home are used in a large amount, and all the lamps and lanterns are on the same circuit, then it must be tinned to prevent accidents;
