The reporter learned on December 9 that the fourth national economic census data released by the National Bureau of statistics showed that in recent years, the construction scale of clean energy power generation in China continued to expand, and wind power and solar power generation grew rapidly, of which the annual average growth of solar power generation reached 57.2%.
Data show that in recent years, China's power generation has grown steadily, and the proportion of clean energy power generation has increased. With the rapid promotion of electric energy substitution, the continuous adjustment and optimization of industrial structure and energy structure, the rapid development of high and new technology, new electricity demand, the continuous expansion of clean energy power generation construction scale, and the steady growth of national power production. In 2018, the national power generation reached 7.1 trillion kwh, an increase of 31.3% over 2013; the average daily power generation reached 19.54 billion kwh, an increase of 4.66 billion kwh over 2013.
The growth rate of power generation in the western region is higher than that in the central and eastern region. Compared with 2013, the power generation in eastern, central, Western and Northeast China increased by 28.5%, 22.2%, 42.3% and 21.6% respectively in 2018. The higher growth rate of power generation in Western China is mainly due to the steady progress of clean energy development and power export channel construction, and the continuous enhancement of its clean energy consumption capacity.
The proportion of thermal power decreased. In 2018, the thermal power generation capacity was 5096.3 billion kwh, an increase of 20% over 2013, far lower than the 71.8% growth rate of clean energy power generation. Thermal power generation accounted for 71.5%, 6.7 percentage points lower than that in 2013, and the trend of clean and low-carbon power production was obvious.
Hydropower has grown steadily, and the proportion of land rich in hydropower resources continues to increase. In 2018, the hydropower generation reached 1231.8 billion kwh, an increase of 311.5 billion kwh over 2013, with an average annual growth rate of 6.0% in five years.
With the rapid growth of wind power, the west to East power transmission ensures the consumption of wind power. In 2018, wind power generation was 355.3 billion kwh, an increase of 151.6% over 2013, with an average annual growth of 20.3%, accounting for 5.0% of total power generation, 2.4 percentage points higher than 2013.
Solar power is growing rapidly. In 2018, the solar power generation capacity was 153.6 billion kwh, an increase of 128.4 billion kwh over 2014, with an average annual growth of 57.2%.
